据国家卫健委网站统计，1月14日0—24时，31个省（自治区、直辖市）和新疆生产建设兵团报告新增确诊病例144例，其中境外输入病例9例（广东3例，上海2例，江苏1例，浙江1例，四川1例，陕西1例），本土病例135例（河北90例，黑龙江43例，广西1例，陕西1例）；无新增死亡病例；新增疑似病例1例，为境外输入病例（在上海）。

国家卫健委新闻发言人米锋表示，国内多地报告本土散发病例和聚集性疫情，疫情呈现持续时间长、涉及范围广、传播速度快、患者年龄大、农村比例高等特征，有的地方出现了社区传播、多代传播。

中国疾控中心副主任冯子健表示，我国疫情呈现多地局部暴发和零星散发状态，这是入冬后全球疫情大幅上升后，对我国造成疫情防控巨大压力的一种反映。
"We now face resurgence of novel coronavirus in certain areas, also some sporadic cases, reflecting our great pressure to prevent imported cases," said Feng Zijian, deputy director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, at a news conference of the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council on Wednesday.
春节期间，人员流动大，将增加疫情传播风险；物流加大，低温条件下需警惕进口冷链食品和其他货物被病毒污染的风险。如落实好相关措施，可确保不出现大规模疫情反弹。
The nation still faces increasing risks because of large population flows and gatherings over the approaching holidays, Feng said. The increasing number of parcels collected and delivered, especially imported goods in cold-chain transportation that may be contaminated by the novel coronavirus, will raise the risk of infection. However, as long as epidemic containment measures are strictly implemented, there will not be a large resurgence of the COVID-19 epidemic.
国家卫健委疾控局监察专员王斌表示，接种新冠疫苗后，绝大部分人会产生抗体，但仍有少数接种者会存在感染风险。另外，大部分人仅接种了一个剂次，疫苗的保护作用不能充分实现。建议只要人员有流动，就遵守当地相关的防控要求和规定。

冯子健表示，变异病毒导致的传染性增强，这基本上是可以肯定的。就目前来说，还没有看到这个病毒的毒力增强，也就是导致疾病的严重性增强，住院率、病死率并没有上升。
"It's certain that the variant novel coronavirus is stronger in its transmission and infectivity, referring to research from overseas studies," Feng said. However, there is no clear signal showing that the variant virus possesses higher virulence, as hospitalization or fatality rates of those infected with the virus mutation haven't increased yet, he said.
王斌于13日介绍，春节期间尽量做到非必要不出行，如果一定要出行，要关注交通旅游信息，错峰出行，全程做好防护，尽量避免去人多的密集场所。
Wang Bin, an official at the National Health Commission's disease prevention and control bureau, said: "We advise people not to travel during the Spring Festival holidays unless absolutely necessary."
为了遏制冬春季疫情，我国将进一步扩大核酸检测范围，并增加定期检测频率。与此同时，多地已明确，春节假期从低风险区返乡者也需持核酸检测阴性证明。全国多地紧急发布通知：聚餐、聚会、宴请、团拜等活动一律取消。
To curb the epidemic in this winter-spring period, China will expand nucleic acid testing to a larger scale and increase regular testing frequency. Meanwhile, several provinces have made it clear that those returning from low-risk areas during the Spring Festival holidays also need to have negative result of nucleic acid testing. An urgent notice was also issued in many regions that gatherings, parties, banquets, reunions and other activities should be canceled.

同时，受疫情影响，包括北京、上海等全国多地都发出了“就地过年”的倡议和号召。也有多地发布了春节在岗的相关规定，对“留守”的非本地人员提供奖励。
Provinces and municipalities including Beijing and Shanghai have already called on their residents to stay where they work during the Spring Festival holiday, so as to reduce the chances of being infected with the virus. Responding to government calls for migrant workers to refrain from long-distance travel home, some companies are offering incentives for their non-local employees to stay for the holiday.
以北京为例，根据《北京市工资支付规定》，北京春节在岗7日可领17日加班费，在法定节假日加班的，用人单位应当按照不低于日工资基数或者小时工资基数的300％支付加班工资，不能用调休或者补休来替代。在休息日加班的，用人单位应该先安排同等时间的补休，不能安排补休的，按照不低于日工资基数或者小时工资基数的200％支付加班工资。

有报道称，中国多个驻外使领馆近期将向有需要的海外留学人员、中资企业员工和侨胞等发放“春节包”（Spring Festival kits），内含防疫和春节物资。对此，外交部发言人赵立坚14日说：
“春节是中国人最珍视的传统节日。今年，由于疫情原因，许多在外的同胞响应‘非必要、非紧急、不旅行’的倡议，留在国外过年。遥远的距离阻断不了亲情，也阻断不了祖国的关爱。中国政府时刻牵挂着广大海外中国公民的健康与平安，为了让他们和祖国人民一起感受春节的氛围，中国驻外使领馆将结合驻在国实际情况，在春节前陆续向留学生等群体发放‘春节包’，并继续调动各方资源，着力解决海外同胞遇到的实际困难，切实维护他们的健康安全和正当权益。”
