The grand military parade and celebrations held in Beijing on Oct 1 for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) were a visual feast for many people both at home and abroad.
10月1日，为庆祝中华人民共和国成立70周年，北京举行了盛大的阅兵式和庆祝活动。对于海内外的不少人而言，这都是场视觉盛宴。
China staged a grand military parade in the morning, showcasing the remarkable progress made by the Chinese armed forces in recent years. About 15,000 officers and soldiers from the People’s Liberation Army, People’s Armed Police Force, reserve services and militia took part in the 80-minute parade in front of Tian’anmen Square.
当天上午举行的盛大阅兵式，展示了我国军队近年来所取得的非凡成就。约15000名来自中国人民解放军、中国人民武装警察部队、预备役部队以及民兵组织的官兵在天安门广场前受阅。阅兵活动时长约80分钟。
Then, a mass pageant showcasing China’s historical achievements and the nation’s great rejuvenation was held. It was seen as a lesson on Chinese history and how far the nation has progressed. The mass pageant, themed “Jointly Building the Chinese Dream”, lasted 65 minutes and was divided into five major parts, each dedicated to celebrating China’s past and current leaders from Mao Zedong to Xi Jinping.
随后举行的群众游行展现了我国所取得的成就以及中华民族的伟大复兴。群众游行可谓是一堂关于新中国波澜壮阔行进历程的历史课。这场以“同心共筑中国梦”为主题的群众游行时长65分钟，分为五大部分，分别向从毛泽东到习近平的我国历届领导人致敬。
In the evening, a grand gala took place in Tian’anmen Square. The epic display of songs, dances and fireworks celebrated the nation and its people.
当晚，天安门广场举行了盛大的联欢活动。现场宏大壮丽的歌舞及烟火表演赞颂了国家和人民。
President Xi extended warm National Day congratulations to Chinese people of all ethnic groups and all compatriots at home and abroad.
习主席向全国各族人民和海内外同胞，致以热烈的国庆节祝贺。
Standing on the Tian’anmen Rostrum in Beijing, where chairman Mao Zedong announced the founding of the PRC on Oct 1, 1949, Xi recalled the revolutionary forefathers and martyrs for their deeds for national independence and liberation, as well as a stronger and more prosperous country and the people’s well-being. He rolled out a road map for the country to realize the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation.
在1949年10月1日毛主席宣布中华人民共和国成立的天安门城楼上，习近平向一切为民族独立和人民解放、国家富强和人民幸福建立了不朽功勋的革命先辈和烈士们，表示深切的怀念。他阐述了中华民族伟大复兴中国梦的路线图。
He called for constant efforts to meet the people’s aspirations for a better life and to keep making historic achievements.
他强调，要不断满足人民对美好生活的向往，不断创造新的历史伟业。
The grand military parade and celebrations have been hailed by overseas audiences as awe-inspiring and sparking a sense of pride.

Naghmana Hashmi, Pakistan’s ambassador to China, said the military parade was a sight to behold.

“It is a sign of a patriotic and proud nation that celebrates its milestones with so much excellence, pride and vigor. I have no doubt that the Chinese leadership, with the support of Chinese people, will continue to steer the country toward the fulfillment of the Chinese dream,” she said.
“这展现了一个爱国且自豪的民族。人们以如此杰出成就、自豪之情以及热情活力来庆祝国家的里程碑。毫无疑问，在中国人民的支持下，中国领导人将继续引领国家实现中国梦，”她表示。
Chea Munyrith, director of the Confucius Institute of the Royal Academy of Cambodia, said that the mass pageant showcased the arduous efforts the Chinese people have made over the past 70 years.
柬埔寨王家研究院孔子学院院长切亚·谢莫尼勒称，群众游行展现了中国人民70载的艰苦奋斗。
“Facts have proved that China’s growth can benefit global growth, and China’s reform and opening-up is being positively felt in many other places in the world,” he said.
“事实已经证明，中国的发展能惠及全球，中国的改革开放也为全球多地带来积极影响，”他说道。
