As the third film in the Thor series, it tells the story of Thor as he teams up with his two frenemies, Loki and Hulk, to battle Hela and keep her from destroying Asgard, the magical kingdom.

According to Yahoo, Hela is the first-ever female villain in a Marvel movie.

“Cate’s very similar to the character of Hela,” the film’s director Taika Waititi told the Washington Post. “Hela has won all these battles and she’s got this calm confidence about her. Cate has won all these awards and has this cool and collected attitude.”

For example, she’s a feminist activist who’s spoken out about her concern on the pressure women in Hollywood face. She’s also an ambassador for the UN to raise people’s awareness about refugees.
