尽管金庸的武侠小说享有盛誉，但只有其中三部译成了英文。而金庸的英文书迷如今有了盼头，因为他最受欢迎的武侠三部曲《射雕英雄传》将推出英译本，并于明年2月面市。
Jin Yong is the pen name of Louis Cha. This latest translation project is the most ambitious among Jin Yong’s works.
这部最新英译本的翻译工作是金庸（原名查良镛）作品中最为艰巨的一部。
The first volume of the trilogy, A Hero Born, was translated by Anna Holmwood, a Swedish translator who studied history at the University of Oxford. She took up the project in 2012 and said that one of the biggest challenges for her was translating the original pace and excitement of the book into English.
三部曲的第一卷《英雄的诞生》由曾在牛津大学进修历史的瑞典译者郝玉青翻译。她于2012年开始该书的翻译工作，并称她最大的挑战在于将书中原本的节奏和惊险刺激译成英文。
“It’s all about whether the English reader will be lured by the emotions and characters. It’s important for the English version to read like an enticing work,” she said.
“一切都在于英语读者是否会被书中的情感和人物所吸引。能让英译本读起来引人入胜才是至关重要的，”她表示。
It took a whole five years for Holmwood to finish the translation. Yet when sample paragraphs of the book first came out, some people considered certain parts of it not precise enough compared to the original Chinese story. But Holmwood didn’t regret taking up her mission.
郝玉青花了整整五年时间才完成这部作品的翻译工作。然而，当该书的一些译文段落首次曝光时，一些人认为和中文原作相比，某些地方不够准确。但郝玉青并不后悔接下这一任务。
“The greatest loss that can occur in translation can only come from not translating it at all,” she wrote in the book’s introduction.
“翻译的最大损失就是不译，”她在英译本的序言中写道。
